Prof. Silvia Capellino is Associate Professor of Behavioural Immunobiology at the Medical Faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, and Group Leader the Neuroimmunology Project Group at the IfADo – Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors in Dortmund, Germany.

Her research focuses on the interplay between the nervous and the immune system in healthy individuals, in patients affected by chronic inflammatory diseases, and in subjects affected by chronic stress. Her current research primarily investigates the role of the neurotransmitter dopamine in neuroimmune interaction, with a particular emphasis on sex-specific differences.
